Mahbubnagar: The World Disabled Day was celebrated across erstwhile Mahbubnagar on Wednesday. While taking part in a programme organised on the occasion in Wanaparthy, Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said that the State government is committed to the welfare of the differently abled community in the State and has offered Rs 3,016 as pension per month.

"Telangana is the only State in the entire country to give Rs 3,016 per month as pension for the welfare of disabled persons. Not just pension, the State government is also providing all the necessary facilities like tricycles and for those disabled persons who are skilled they are given bank loans with subsidy from government so as to help them take up employment and make a living on par with those of normal persons," said Singireddy Niranjan Reddy while speaking at programme in Wanaparthy.

Singireddy Niranjan Reddy further said those with disabilities are no less than anyone. They became disabled due to unfortunate genetic disorders and it is not their fault. They may be disabled with limbs or other things but they are expert in other aspects. For instance a blind person will have a sharp mind and can remember things much better and take wise decisions, however, they need some push and the Telangana government is committed to give that push and encouragement for their welfare and upliftment. The Agriculture Minister whished the disabled persons to achieve greater heights in life and for that whatever support they need the government is ready to provide. The minister said he has provided tricycles free of cost to may physically disabled persons earlier and said that he is always there to help anyone who is in need.
