Chevella: The chairman and managing director of Pragati Resorts, Dr GBK Rao, has said that the crops cultivated amid pollution are not good for health. He said that the pollution spoils the purity of mother's milk. He was inaugurating the 14th batch of Amrutha Ahaaram at Pragati Resorts here on Thursday.

He addressed the registered members of the batch on the occasion. Rao said, "Be your own doctor, your health is in your hands. By taking healthy diet, you can be away from diseases."

Manasa (Millets), Vacha (Herbal Decoctions), Karmana (Wooden Cold-pressed oils), and Palm Jaggery influence and determine one's trikarana shuddhi, 'siddhi' and 'buddhi.' By taking Dr Khadar Vali's healthy diet, one can lead healthy, happy, joyful and peaceful lives, he added.

Rao elaborated on the treasures of sacred herbal and medicinal plants and heritage cows at Pragati Resorts. He said not all herbal plants at the resorts have been prescribed by Dr Khadar Vali for herbal decoctions due to their scant availability, and to protect them from extinction.

He reeled out the list of herbal plants: Punarnava, Kalpavruksham, Ranapala, all spices, Sadaapaaku, Madhuka, Ippapuvvu, Brahmakamalam, Brahmakumari, Ganuga, Insulin plant, Parijatham, Vepa, and lavanga tulasi.

He provided features and their usefulness for each medical condition. He said that only when one takes herbal decoctions with pure heart and mind, will the decoctions show their complete effect on them. "Arogyame Maha Bhagyam. When there are trees and cows all around us, then our health is assured," he added.
