A book ‘Bhimsen Joshi—The Voice of the People’, written by Dr Nagaraj Rao Havaldar was released by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Information Technology, at an event organised by ICCR and Surmandal.

Hyderabad: A book 'Bhimsen Joshi—The Voice of the People', written by Dr Nagaraj Rao Havaldar was released by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Information Technology, at an event organised by ICCR and Surmandal. In their series of tributes to the legends, Jal Tarang by Milind Tulankar and vocal recital by Dr Nagaraj Hawaldar were organised.

"I have documented the human side of my guru," said Dr Nagaraj. Later, he rendered Rag Bhogi raag in which guru Bhimsen Joshi was very much fond of.

The Jal Tarang is an Indian origin ancient melodic percussion instrument consisting of a set of ceramic, China, or metal bowls filled with various levels of water. In this act, China bowls filled with different levels of water are struck by two cane sticks, producing a melodious music.
