Serilingampally: Local MLA Arekapudi Gandhi on Wednesday held a review meeting with GHMC officials on sewerage problem. It was decided to extend cooperation of GHMC sanitation staff to HMWSSB for a month in the light of the latter being entrusted with the management of sewerage in civic bodies located on the City's outskirts.
The legislator advised the sanitation employees not to be negligent in solving the sewerage issue and called for putting in place the required staff. He said Air Tech machine supervisors should be appointed and their work improved, without tolerating the irregularities of the contractors. Gandhi stated that the drainage issue should be expeditiously settled by identifying manholes and steps taken on their re-building.
Among the officials present were GHMC EE Venkateswarlu, Chinna Reddy, Water Works GM Rajasekhar, DGM Narayana, Nagapriya, medical officers Ranjit, Ravi Kumar and AE Anurag.
