Medchal: Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu on Thrusday reviewed arrangements for the Brahmotsavam of Keesara Ramalingeswara Swamy, scheduled from February 19 to 24, with the temple managing committee and district officials. He stressed upon the need of educating devotees about the ban on use of plastic items by putting up flexies.

The DC advised the temple committee chairman to use cotton bags or leafs for carrying 'prasadam'. He directed the Transco SE to install electricity tower and fix lights near the parking area and immediately take up sanitation works, besides providing masks and gloves to the workers.

Venkateswarlu wanted weeds on either side of roads to be removed, ensure water supply in bathrooms besides fixing taps and to provide additional mobile latrines. He directed DPOs and RWS officials to make sure that latrines, sanitation facilities and drinking water are clean, since a large number of devotees are expected.

The DC directed the RWS, DPO, IIPR, police and Revenue staff to coordinate their activities and take precautions so that devotees should not face any inconvenience. He called for steps to erect mobile towers of Jio, Airtel and BSNL since signals were not be available. Venkateshwarlu suggested the preparation of lists of NGOs, Red Cross youth and NCC cadets for providing drinking water and buttermilk to devotees standing in queues. He directed the DMHO to arrange health camps and make medicines and 108 ambulances available. He wanted students to conduct cultural programmes.

Among those present at the meeting were JC Vidyasagar, DPP Rakshitha Murthy, DRO Madhukar Reddy, Temple EO Sudhakar Reddy, chairman Srinivas, RDO Ravi, MPP Indira, District Shashirekha, Keesara Sarpanch Madhuri.
