The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) has launched shuttle buses from Durgam Cheruvu station to the commuters improving the last mile connectivity for the passengers.

The buses are being run to Gachibowli and financial district. Initially, the HMR is running the bus services at free of cost. The buses are said to be available for every 15 minutes to the commuters. These services will be operated from 8 am to 12 noon and from 4 pm to 9 pm on weekdays.

In addition,12 IT companies have come forward to provide transport to their employees to metro stations from Hitec City and Durgam Cheruvu.

The shuttle bus services come to a great relief to the employees who can now travel directly to the office from the station without having to hail shared autos or other transport. The HMR is planning to launch more such services to increase the metro ridership.

On the other hand, the metro witnessed 2.60 lakh patronage on Wednesday in connection with IPL cricket match at Uppal stadium.
