Hyderabad: Pattana Pragathi rollout today
Ministers and MLAs will participate along with the citizens in the municipalities
Hyderabad: The ten-day 'Pattana Pragathi' programme is all set to take off from Monday in all municipalities aiming to improve living conditions in the towns.
The Pattana Pragathi has been designed on the success of Palle Pragathi which was carried out for a month. The Pattana Pragathi would be for only ten days starting from Monday where all ministers and MLAs would participate along with the citizens in the municipalities.
Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao would participate in the Mahabubnagar municipality on Monday. The programme would be carried out till March 4 and the government is geared up to make it a success with the participation of all the public representatives including MLAs, MPs and others. Already the municipalities were given action plan to implement during the Pattana Pragathi.
The main targets under the programme would be to increase greenery, civic services, sanitation. The municipalities have been asked to take up cleaning of the sewerage lines, open areas as part of sanitation programme.
The officials have been asked to take ward as a unit and also to take up works like sanitation, drinking water supply, road repairs, greenery, maintaining nurseries, identification of lands for public toilets. The officials have been asked to have year-long action plan for health of the citizens in towns.
The officials were also asked to make sure the daily wastage and construction wastes are not disposed off in water bodies, encourage people to have rainwater harvesting pits in their houses.
Ward committees would also be formed by including enthusiastic youth who are willing to work for the society and have meetings once in at least three months.
The MAUD Minister said that under the direction of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the programme is aimed at bringing qualitative changes in the livelihood of the citizens in the municipalities with their contribution.
The minister asked the public representatives and officials to utilise the opportunity to get the blessings of the people.
He called upon them to strive for achieving the targets set under Pattana Pragathi.
