Abids: A statewide campaign 'Boycott NPR' will be organised by the alliance against NPR, NRC and CAA from March 1 to 15. The alliance has also announced to observe March 8, the international women's day, as the day of anti-CAA, NRC and NPR.

Addressing the media on Tuesday afternoon, the Convenor JAC, retired Justice Chandra Kumar, said "the questions embedded in the NPR process seek to gather objectionable information from citizens. The government is trying to collect data from citizens in the name of census or NPR. Millions of Indians are in danger of being arrested for failing to provide proof of citizenship through the government's implementation of NRC, NPR and CAA," he said.

The alliance condemned the central government's inaction to maintain peace and the nationwide assault on the democratic right to protest, the denial of permissions (for holding meetings and discussions), and the government's restraint on the peaceful movement of protesters. It also sought a resolution from the Telangana government boycotting implementation of the NPR which begins on April 1, 2020. Chandra Kumar urged the police to immediately stop detaining peaceful agitators, while condemning the ongoing violence in country's capital Delhi.

Justifying its stance, the alliance said, "It embraces the path of non-violence, united public protests that Mahatma Gandhi has provided for defending the Constitution and democracy of India."

Vimala, Shyam Sundar Rao, Mohammed Sadiq, Advocate Waliur Rahman, Khalida Parveen, Abdul Azeem were also present on this occasion.
