For the first time, temperatures have crossed 43 degrees Celsius mark in the city this summer, four degrees above normal for the month of April.

Hyderabad: Temperatures have consistently been on the rise in Hyderabad. For the past ten days, the maximum temperatures in Hyderabad hovered between 41 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the temperatures soared beyond 43 degrees Celsius mark which is four degrees above normal in April.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, the maximum temperatures were recorded at Ameerpet(43.2 degrees Celsius), followed by Qutbullahpur (42.5), Shapur Nagar (42.1) and Balanagar (42.1).

The average temperature in the city recorded by India Meteorological Department (IMD) at its Begumpet office on Monday was 41.2 degrees Celsius. Its forecast in the city indicated temperatures only seem to rise and consistently stay at 43 degrees Celsius during this week.
