Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) decided to mobilise maximum number of leaders for the Bharat Bachao rally at Delhi to be held on 14th of this month against the economic policies of the NDA government at the Centre.

AICC general secretary in-charge for Telangana RC Khuntia has convened a meeting with the leaders of the PCC at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday. The meeting has decided to mobilise nearly 3,000 leaders of the PCC and sister organisations.

It has appointed a committee with three leaders to coordinate the mobilisation. The committee includes working presidents of PCC Ponnam Prabhakar, J Kusuma Kumar and PCC general secretary CJ Srinivas. It has been decided in the meeting to mobilise about 10 leaders from each Assembly constituency, about 1,190. Each MP and former MPs of the Congress would take care of 7 Assembly constituencies.

Apart from these leaders, 106 functionaries of the PCC have been told to participate in the rally without fail. About 75 AICC members, 238 PCC members, 238 block presidents, six MLAs and one MLC, 118 former MPs, former MLAs, 250 Youth Congress leaders, 250 Mahila Congress leaders and 200 PCC secretaries would be taken to Delhi.

Speaking to The Hans India, PCC working president J Kusuma Kumar said that all the leaders of the PCC have been strictly told to participate in the programme. He said that action would be taken against the PCC office bearers and other functionaries if they fail to attend the programme.

It may be recalled hear that the Congress has been holding a nationwide agitation against the economic policies of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Protest programmes have been organised at various levels in the State in November.

The AICC has planned a massive rally at Delhi on December 14 and the PCCs have been told to mobilise maximum number of leaders. The PCC have been asked to send 10 leaders from each Assembly constituency.

Sources in the party said that few leaders have been directed to monitor the attendance of the PCC leaders at the rally in Delhi. They would check whether those who have been told to reach Delhi for the rally arrived or not at the Ramlila Maidan where a meeting would be held.

Along with the PCC leaders, four MPs of the Congress from the State, president of the PCC, leader of CLP, former presidents of the PCC and working presidents of the PCC would attend the rally in Delhi.
