Hyderabad police tracked the Bowenpally kidnap case and rescue Praveen Rao and his two brothers

The city task force police on Wednesday rescued former hockey player Praveen Rao and his two brothers -- Sunil Rao and Naveen Rao who were kidnapped in Bowenpally. The trio is said to be the relatives of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's PA Venugopal Rao.

Getting into details, Praveen Rao and his two brothers were kidnapped by unidentified assailants who arrived in three cars at the former's residence in Bowenpally. They thrashed the watchman and threatened the three brothers before kidnapping them. The kidnappers also stole the laptops, mobile phones and other valuable documents.

The police got the information over the kidnap who alerted all the police stations in the city and investigated the case based on the CCTV footage. They tracked two cars in Ramgopalpet and one in Vikarabad.

It was suspected that dispute over Rs 100 crore worth land in Hafizpet resulted in the kidnap. The victims said that the kidnappers threatened them in the name of AP former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya's husband Bharagavaram. Around eight persons were taken into custody by the police including Bhargava Ram's brother Chandrahas.

On learning the kidnap incident, minister Srinivas rao and MP Maloth Kavitha visited the residence of Praveen Rao.
