Hyderabad: All the TRS leaders including ministers, MLAs have called upon the people to observe the 24-hour 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday and fight the war against coronavirus with same spirit of Telangana movement.

The ministers and MLAs have cancelled their official programmes and have decided to stay at their homes and also asked the people to observe Janata Curfew.

Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that all can do a great service to humanity by being at home on Sunday. He said that the people of the State should join hands with the government to fight against the deadly disease like coronavirus. "Let us fight corona the way we fought in the Telangana agitation... continue the same spirit.

Let us be an inspiration to the world by fighting against corona," said Harish Rao. Harish Rao said that because of lack of self control the virus has spread rampantly in several countries leading to deaths of thousands of individuals. It is the responsibility of to ensure such situation does not come to our State.

Apart from the steps taken by the government, people also should lend their support, said Rao. He also called upon the people to give the information of people coming from foreign countries because there is a need for these people to undergo tests.

He asked the sarpanchs, ward members and corporators to bring to the notice of the authorities if they find anyone coming from foreign countries.

Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that his voluntary organisation Yes Foundation has taken up campaign with pamphlets explaining about the precautions to be taken up to avoid spreading of corona.

He called upon the people to follow self-isolation for 24-hours in wake of the call given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod said that she would also observe the 24-hour 'Janata Curfew' and would come out at 5 pm and clap.

She said that self-control is the only solution for the deadly virus which is claiming thousands of lives across the world.
