Karimnagar: Kapil Group Chairman Kasuganti Vaman Rao inaugurated a 100-bed Omega Hospital's cancer care centre 'Sushrutha' at Housing Board Colony near Saraswati Sishu Mandir in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, IMA senior leader V Bhoom Reddy said that Omega Hospital was established in July 2010 with a vision to create world class integrated healthcare delivery system in India with experienced and dedicated Oncologists, who has a zeal to provide exceptional medical services to the cancer patients in India. 'Our aim is to launch a leading cancer treatment centre and ensure cancer treatment at a reasonable price for the patients from all sections of the society, he said.

Revealing expansion plans, Omega Hospitals CEO P Sridhar said the expansion was taken up by the group with an outlay of Rs 400 crore and as a first step, Omega Hospitals has established its full-fledged cancer care centre in Kurnool and Guntur cities and later in Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. Now expanding its branches in Telangana and the first branch is opened in Karimnagar, he stated.

Omega Hospitals Centre Head, Karimnagar, Dr Pradyumna Reddy said establishment of cancer care centre is first of its kind to cater the needs of the patients in North Telangana region. Earlier, people of these regions have to go to Hyderabad and other places for better medical services, he said. Now with the establishment of a special unit with an investment of Rs 30 crore in Karimnagar, the quality cancer care services are available at the doorsteps of the patients, he assured. Omega Hospitals Chairman Ch Mohan Vamsy, Director P Benod Kumar, Senior consultant radiation oncologist Dr Rajiv Choudhary, consultant surgical oncologist Dr Abid Ali Mirza and others were present.
