The tender works of last phase of canal works of Sri Sita Rama Lift Irrigation project were completed on Friday

Khammam: The tender works of last phase of canal works of Sri Sita Rama Lift Irrigation project were completed on Friday. The project was taken up with an aim of getting 6.60 lakh acres under cultivation in Khammam, Kothagudem and Mahabubabad districts. Project construction is going on at a brisk pace in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. The officials called tenders for works worth Rs 2,495 crore and divided the works into seven packages. The tender works were completed in Khammam circle office and the officers will plan tenders for another three packages with an estimated cost of Rs 1,238.6 crores in the district.

Sita Rama Project Superintendent Engineer P Venkata Krishna confirmed that the tenders programme was completed for seven packages including the construction of Seethama Sagar barrage works. 75% of Sita Rama Lift Irrigation works were completed and the works are now slowed down due to coronavirus outbreak and construction of three pump houses was completed, he informed.
