Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday assured to implement the promise made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao four years ago to allocate 5 acres land in prime location for the construction of South India’s largest gurudwara and community hall through government funding.

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday assured to implement the promise made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao four years ago to allocate 5 acres land in prime location for the construction of South India's largest gurudwara and community hall through government funding.

Rama Rao along with Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Mayor Bonthu Rammohan attended the mass congregation Vishaal Deewan at Exhibition grounds in Nampally in Hyderabad on Tuesday, on the occasion of 550th Prakash Utsav (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak.

The Telangana State Sikh Committee shared their grievances with the Minister. Rama Rao asked the committee members to arrange a meeting to discuss their issues and assured to resolve the problems the Sikh community was facing.

It may be mentioned here that 5 years ago, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called upon Sikhs to build a gurudwara in Telangana, which would be the biggest in South India.

The Chief Minister while attending the 545th Jayanti celebrations of Guru Nanak at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally, the first after formation of Telangana, lauded the role of Sikhs in Statehood movement.
