Karimnagar: Sircilla MLA and TRS working president KT Rama Rao advised doctors and paramedical staff to provide better medical services to the poor and have a permanent place in their hearts with their service.
KTR conducted a surprise inspection at the district government hospital here on Friday after a series of complaints about the lack of gynaecologists in the district hospital and diverting pregnant women to Karimnagar and other private hospitals for delivery.
He also conducted a review meeting on the performance of district hospital along with the MLA, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, District Hospital Supervisor, doctors, staff and District Medical and Health Officer at the district government hospital. He discussed about the complaints and the reasons.
KTR said the State government is giving utmost importance to public health since the formation of separate State and improved the government hospitals. Keeping in view of heavy rush of patients, various services like blood bank, ICU, dialysis centre etc have been set up at the district hospital.
He also reminded that a super specialty hospital was granted to the district. He said a CT machine will be set up soon at the district hospital. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's Vision is to have a 300-bed super specialty hospital in all districts. The government is striving very hard to reach the target of strengthening public health system in the State, he said.
Stating that he will request Medical and Health Minister Eatala Rajender to visit the district hospital, KTR advised the doctors and staff to notify him regarding the infrastructure, staff shortage, hospital problems and personal problems in detail, which will be brought to the attention of the Union Minister of State for Health immediately.
MLA KT Rama Rao spoke with Health Department Special Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari over phone and requested her to appoint four dedicated amateur gynaecologists to the district hospital, who are expected to work here for at least two years.
Later, he interacted with the patients and their relatives. He visited maternity wing and inquired about the medical services being provided to them.
