Lecturer held for harassing girl students
The She Team police on Sunday arrested a lecturer working in a private junior college for sexually harassing the girl students.
Warangal: The She Team police on Sunday arrested a lecturer working in a private junior college for sexually harassing the girl students.
ACP (Crime) B Babu Rao said Tomburapu Ranjith Kumar of Incharla village of Mulugu district has been harassing girl students by calling and sending lewd messages to them.
The lecturer has been targeting students, who are academically backward. Pretending to help these students, he used to call them, initially. After a few days, he used to send abusive messages and pictures through SMS or WhatsApp.
Against this backdrop, parents of an aggrieved student lodged a complaint with the Commissionerate Police through WhatsApp. Following which, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder alerted the She Team.
The She Team led by inspector B Srinivas swung into action, inquired and found that the lecturer had been sexually harassing the students. They arrested Ranjith Kumar and registered a case in Hanamkonda police station.
