She said libraries contribute to personality development as well as knowledge acquisition. Every student should make the habit of reading books if they want to reach the top in their life and bring good name to their parents. Everyone should work towards environmental protection and plastic prevention, she added.

The ZP chief assured of striving hard to get Urdu Women Degree College in the district and efforts are being made to build additional rooms to increase the number of readers in the libraries of Dasturabad and Nirmal centres in the district.

On the occasion, she felicitated noted poets and artistes on a grand note and mementoes were distributed to the winners of essay writing, Rangoli, drawing and dance competitions.

Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju said thousands of books are available in the libraries, which students should read and enhance their knowledge. Students will gain knowledge if they visit libraries and moral values if they visit temples, he added. The SP presented a clock to the library.

Joint Collector A Bhaskar Rao asked students and people to visit libraries to enhance their knowledge. Students can read the books required for the competitive exams in the libraries and they should be used in the exams. Reading books in the library is to get concentration and every student should read books and newspapers to update their knowledge every day.

District library chairman Rajendar said that there are 16 libraries in the district and over 1.5 lakh books and nearly one lakh readers read books every day.

Rythu Samanvaya Samithi president Nalla Venkatram Reddy, agricultural market committee chairman, district educational officer Pranith, ZPTC Rajeshwar, Jeevan Reddy, MPP Rameshwar Reddy, TRS State secretary Satyanarayana Goud, Allola Muralidhar Reddy, TNGO president Prabhakar and others were present.
