A man who dreamt of becoming an IPS officer has ended up by faking it and was arrested by the Central Zone Task Force police here at Golconda on Thursday.

K Guruvinod Kumar (25), a native of Andhra Pradesh was residing at Golconda crossroads at Musheerabad. He made public to believe him as an Additional Superintendent of Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and also deceived a retired major by telling the same. He later met several IPS officers with the help of Major and took photos with them which he used for getting privileged service in hotels, temples and more.

However, it came to light after Kumar stole a dummy pistol from the retired major's house thinking it to be a real one. The Major who found Kumar claims to be false on the missing gun handed over him to the police.

According to CP Anjani Kumar, Kumar had appeared several exams to get into the police department. As his attempts failed, he posed as IPS officer saying the people that he cleared the exams and secured the job.
