Massive anti-plastic drive by TSPCB at Medaram
As part of Swachh Medaram and Swachh Telangana initiative, Telangana state Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) conducted four days massive awareness programmes against plastic use at Sammakka Saralamma Jatara in co-ordination with TSNGC and RO Warangal.
Hyderabad: As part of Swachh Medaram and Swachh Telangana initiative, Telangana state Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) conducted four days massive awareness programmes against plastic use at Sammakka Saralamma Jatara in co-ordination with TSNGC and RO Warangal. About 25000 cloth bags were distributed by TSPCB team to the devotees and along with the pamphlets and urged people to use eco-friendly bags and requested to avoid using single use plastic.
Plastic covers from vendors at jatara site are also replaced by cloth bags at the festive site. TSNGC volunteers collected plastic pouches thrown after use along roadside at jatara. About 100 volunteers participated in the program, mobile van to measure the water pollution is also pressed into service for monitoring. Venkat, EE, Ajay, AE, Sravan ,AE, Somesh Kumar, Media Coordinator, Nageshwar Rao, PO. Sathaiah, PO, Vidya Sagar, APO and others participated in the programme.
