Warangal: Warangal Urban District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil and Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender said the MGM Hospital would be developed phase-wise.

In a review meeting here on Thursday, the duo said as of now plans are afoot to provide basic needs of the hospital with an outlay of Rs 4 crore. In the first phase, impetus would be on improving sanitation besides addressing power problem in the hospital, Narender said.

The MGM which is the largest in the north Telangana would be given a complete makeover in the next few months, he said, referring to the Health Minister Eatala Rajender's directions.

It may be recalled here that Health Minister who had inspected the hospital a few days ago assured to develop MGM hospital on par with the corporate ones.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on providing the best medical facilities to the people, Narender said the hospital would soon have adequate staff.

"We have plans to start 'MGM Development Fund' with the Collector as its chairman. We will invite philanthropists to donate generously for development of the hospital. A decision in this regard will be taken soon," Narender said.

Patil said developmental works would be taken up on priority basis. The immediate focus is on improving the aesthetics of the hospital.

This apart, the focus would be on procuring medical equipment, he added. He directed the MGM management to submit proposals for the development of the hospital.
