Model UN meet a platform for intelligent students in Warangal
The Second Edition of Model United Nations’ (SISMUN) Conference, which gives a platform to numerous intellectual brains combined with futuristic visions, who believe in the power of speech and expression, was held in Sparkrill International School
Warangal: The Second Edition of Model United Nations' (SISMUN) Conference, which gives a platform to numerous intellectual brains combined with futuristic visions, who believe in the power of speech and expression, was held in Sparkrill International School here on Saturday.
Riyaz, faculty of competitive examinations, interacted with the students and explained that all the civilizations in the world and the efforts of our forefathers led to discovery of the gadgets, medicine and comfortable life which we are leading today.
He advised all the students to use their attitude, aptitude and knowledge for the betterment of the society. In addition to this, he depicted how the world is safe on one side and dangerous on the other side.
The principal of the school C. Randhir Reddy explained about the importance of participation in the event and advised the students to take a chance to showcase their talents.
"The students could get an opportunity to utilize their innovative ideas to debate, discuss, analyze and find solutions for the global issues such as poverty, health, education, women empowerment and unemployment. Besides, they also could develop their listening, writing and debating skills in the event. They also got an opportunity to know the working system of various UN agencies," he said.
150 students from Sparkrill International School, Warangal Public School, Shine High School, Lotus National School, Oasis Public School and Delhi Public School from Warangal actively participated in the program 'MUN'. All the students were divided into four Councils namely UN Human Rights Council, UN General Assembly, UN Security Council and UN Women.
The Chairs for all the four councils were students of X grade Srikar, Roshni Malik Sarfani, Rohith and Ameena Mansoor. They discussed various issues like The Human Rights Situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, Drugs, Crime and International Terrorism, Nuclear Proliferation Test and Terrorism and Women Empowerment.
Shiva Kumar, the Secretary General, Chandra Prakash, the Vice Secretary General, Madhukar, the Director General, Padmavathi, the Deputy Director General, Praveen Kumar, the Convener and Swathi, the Deputy Convener played the main roles to systemise the event successfully.
