Hyderabad: Soon after taking oath, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan has decided to take up his work seriously and try to resolve the inter-state disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He is likely to meet the Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan soon.

Highly-placed sources said that the two Governors are likely to meet in Hyderabad in August and discuss the issues pertaining to the pending division of assets and employees as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. So far, ESL Narasimhan, in the capacity of Governor of two states, was holding talks with the officials of AP and Telangana.

There has been a deadlock on various contentious issues mainly the division of government employees in some departments and repatriation of employees to their native states. Political circles say that the new Governor of AP would be playing a proactive role and would try to find solutions for the long-pending problems.

Sources said that the two Governors will also have to apprise the status of pending issues to the Union government from time to time because the Centre is authorised to address all bifurcation related issues in the two states.

Narasimhan has been conducting meetings with the officials of two governments since 2014 and he succeeded in addressing some of the issues mainly the handing over the buildings that were under the possession of Andhra Pradesh in Telangana Secretariat to the T state.

The Telangana and Andhra governments are also in talks to settle the contentious issue of clearing of power dues between the two States and employees service issues on a priority basis. The issue of handing over all the AP corporation buildings in Hyderabad to Telangana is also pending.
