Nirmal: Collector directs the creation of two model villages in each Mandal
District Collector M Prashanthi has ordered mandal special officers to convert two villages into model villages in every mandal.

Addressing a meeting with the mandal special officers as part of Palle Pragathi programme at the Collector Conference Hall in Nirmal on Thursday, the Collector instructed the officials concerned to take necessary actions to convert two selected villages into model villages.
She also asked them draw rangolis at the main entrance of the model village, to plant saplings at two sides of the main roads. They were told to ensure that no garbage be dumped on the road side, no litter near shops and wine shops.
She asked the special mandal officers to take a tractor and three workers along with them to clean the garbage dumps in the municipality.
She also asked the every shop owner should maintain cleanliness around the radius of 100 meters of their shop and to maintain dust bins. She also said that every household should maintain water harvest pits, and every village should send proposals for community toilets and register data of illiterates people with their respective mandals. Zilla Parishad Chief Executive officer Sudheer, District Panchayat Officer Srinivas, Collectorate AO Kareem, mandal special officers and others were present.
