In 1971, Dr. Mallikarjun from Mahabubnagar, and Indira Gandhi from Delhi, later A Narendra of BJP and Vijayasanthi who also won from Medak constituency are from Hyderabad.

Four MPs represented from the old district. TDP MP, Manik Reddy, who won in 1984, was from Dakur village in Andhole mandal.
