Parishad poll process underway in Telangana
Nominations for the first phase of elections to zilla parishad territorial constituency (ZPTC) and mandal parishad territorial constituency (MPTC) have begun on a slow note on the opening day on Monday.
Warangal: Nominations for the first phase of elections to zilla parishad territorial constituency (ZPTC) and mandal parishad territorial constituency (MPTC) have begun on a slow note on the opening day on Monday.
It may be mentioned here that under the first phase, elections are to be held to 25 ZPTCs and 287 MPTCs in the erstwhile Warangal district. In Warangal Urban district, the authorities received one nomination each for Bheemadevarapally and Kamalapuram ZPTCs, and 23 nominations for the MPTCs. Elections to four ZPTCs and 52 MPTCs are to be held under the first phase in Warangal Urban district.
In Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, elections are to be held for three ZPTCs and 38 MPTCs under the first phase. In all, nine candidates have filed nominations for MPTCs in three mandals – Bhupalpally, Regonda and Ghanapuram. No nomination was filed for ZPTCs.
