Hyderabad: Patients visited major State-run hospitals in twin cities on Sunday after the government decided to run Out-patient departments in all teaching hospitals across the state on Sundays and on holidays in view of increased cases of viral fevers this month.

Although this decision was announced only on Saturday, patients read about the news and turned up at various hospitals for treatment.

The number of out-patient registrations was nearly 300 in Fever hospital while in Niloufer it was over 200. Osmania General Hospital had 40 patients who came for OP check up, though not related to fever.

They were admitted as in-patients in view of their health condition and for further treatment.

Out-patients also turned at Gandhi Hospital for treatment on Sunday.
