Hyderabad: In view of increasing number of complaints with regard to lottery frauds in the name of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the cybercrime police of Cyberabad on Friday warned the innocent common public not to become as scapegoats to the cyber fraudsters.

They gave a call to the public to be cautious towards the lotteries and prizes posted on social media platforms like Facebook, Whatsapp, and SMSs.

According to the cybercrime sleuths, the cyber tricksters, who are operating mainly from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are sending bulk messages to public by saying that their mobile number received an amount of Rs 25 lakh in Kaun Banega Crorepati lottery.

Further, they post the same content in Facebook and also circulate in Whatsapp and other social media platforms.

Once anyone responds to the message sent by the fraudsters, in the guise of sending lottery prize amount, the fraudsters make believe the innocent persons to pay huge money into their bank accounts, e-wallets in the name of registration fee, Income Tax, GST, service charges etcetera in order to receive the prize or lottery money.

In view of increase in lottery frauds, public are advised to take precautionary measures in order to prevent lottery frauds in the name of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Do not respond to the bulk messages and SMS's received from unknown persons sent in the name of winner of lottery. Do not blindly believe the fraudster's words and share the bank account, card or e-wallet details with them.

Just give a thought and discuss with friends and parents before transferring the money to the unknown persons.
