A rowdy-sheeter in an intoxicated state created ruckus at Mettuguda in Secunderabad this morning severely injuring a railway employee.

Bhagyaraj attacked the railway employee identified as Rakesh who was shifted to a nearby hospital and is battling for life. The Taskforce police rushed to the spot to nab the offender. Though the rowdy-sheeter made efforts to escape from the police by attacking them, the police managed to caught the accused and arrested him. The police registered a case and launched a probe. It is believed the sheeter also took the drugs.

Locals complained that they had complained to the police against the rowdy-sheeter but no action was taken. They urged the police to initiate action against the rowdy-sheeters to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Taskforce DCP Radha Krishnan, North zone inspector Nageshwara Rao said that they will not encourage such incidents of rowdyism.
