RTC Employees Union (EU) celebrated its fifth formation day at Magdhoom Bhavan mini hall here on Friday.

Musheerabad: RTC Employees Union (EU) celebrated its fifth formation day at Magdhoom Bhavan mini hall here on Friday. As part of celebrations, general secretary of the union K Raji Reddy hoisted the union flag.

Addressing RTC employees after hoisting the flag, union president S Babu said that although the union was in existence from 1952, the union has decided to separate from parent body after the formation of the new state and formed a new unit for the state.

He said that there were huge expectations from the state government after the new state, but the situation has become worse and the existence of the organisation itself is in question. He exuded confidence that EU would win the upcoming RTC union elections.

General secretary Raji Reddy, speaking on the occasion, said that the union if wins the next elections, it would ensure that RTC is merged in government and RTC employees get good pay scale in the next pay revision.

The union would also strive to ensure job security to drivers and conductors, he added. On the occasion of its formation day, union president and secretary distributed fruits to the patients taking treatment at RTC hospital located at Tarnaka.

Chief medical officer of Tarnaka hospital Dr Venkat Ramana, hospital staff, vice-president of EU CH Narsaiah, state secretary D Gopal, CHB Reddy, B Jakaraiah, president of Greater Hyderabad zone EU MA Majid, secretary J Raghavulu and others participated in the programme.
