School students take out rallies seeking justice for Harshini in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: Marking their protest against the recent murder of 10th class girl Sri Harshini in Jadcherla of Mahbubnagar district, school students and students' organisations from various schools from across erstwhile Mahbubnagar district took out rallies and road shows raising slogans seeking justice for Harshini and death penalty for accused Y Naveen Reddy.

In Jadcherla mandal, students of Prerana High School, where Harshini studied up to 9th class took out a rally and shouted slogans seeking justice and death to the culprit responsible for the crime. While speaking on the occasion, school principal Gopinath said, "Harshini was a sincere and hard-working student. It is unfortunate that she had to end her life in a tragic manner. We are demanding that the government teach a lesson to the culprit who is responsible for the death of the girl and give him death penalty by processing his case on a fast track court."

Former Jadcherla MLA and BJP leader Yerra Shekar visited the relatives of Harshini and condoled the death of their beloved daughter. He demanded that the government take stringent action.

In Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district, Muslim Minority Joint Action Team members took out condolence rally and expressed their grave concern. They also raised slogans against the culprit and demanded immediate justice to the girl's family. "We have been witnessing a rise in such cruel and inhuman crime cases in the society. This is happening only because the culprits are thinking that they can get off by doing anything. To teach them a lesson we need to amend our laws and such people should be shot dead in the public," said a member of JAC.

The bar association members in Jadcherla also expressed their solidarity with the family members of Harshini and urged the lawyer community not to take up the case from the culprit side. Accordingly, they had adopted a resolution that no one will take up the case from the culprit side.

In Gadwal, the school children from various schools took out rallies and demanded death penalty to the alleged person involved in the heinous crime.
