Medak: Medak continues to be hot with severe heat-wave conditions prevailing during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday. Rain occurred at isolated places in Telangana, the Met department bulletin said. The highest maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khammam. While Medak registered 40.7, Hakimpet and Dundigal had 37 each.

In a warning to Telangana, the bulletin said on June 17 and 18 severe heat-wave conditions are very likely at isolated pockets, while heat-wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of all Telangana districts. Public have been advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at isolated places across the State from June 17 to 20, with the Southwest Monsoon further advancing into remaining parts of north-east Bay of Bengal, some more parts of north-west Bay.

A low-pressure area is likely to develop over North Bay of Bengal during next four¬ to five days. The upper air cyclonic circulation between 4.5 and 5.8 km above the mean sea level over west-central Bay off Andhra coast is persisting.
