Siddipet: Public participation and dedication of people's representatives, coupled with help from proactive officials, have transformed a nondescript village into an ideal habitation for all. The village Peddalingareddipally in rural mandal has seen so much progress in so little time that it earned lavish praise from Finance Minister T Harish Rao himself. Apart from the development, the village is also known for its 'Swacch' activities.
Chief Minister KCR, with an intention to create clean and green villages, launched a village development programme a few days ago, called 'Palle Pragathi'. Realising the fact that people would be healthy, when villages are clean, the people's representatives embarked upon Mission Swachhata. They have been organising clean and green programme on every Sunday for last one year. This programme transformed the village neat and tidy and helped people realise the fruits of collective efforts.
Peddalingareddipally village now boasts of many amenities and attractions such as 30 park benches, 10 model dust bins at main junctions, a model bus depot, 16 cctv cameras in main streets of the village, a children's park and Batukamma statue in the pond.
There is a separate programme in place, put together at the behest of Minister Harish Rao, for performing final rites for the villagers including orphans and the poor.
The minister also took special interest and ensured three community buildings, one reading room, one continuous education center, two anganwadi centers, a building for women, three Mission Bhagiratha tanks, a Balavikas Water Plant, 8 mini water tanks, special evening classes for students , daily yoga classes, 50 plates and 50 glasses for mid-day meal for students, English medium from classes 1-5, and many more.
The serene and verdant environs of the village with modern amenities has all qualifications to bag a national award
