Smuggled PDS rice seized in Nizamabad
Acting on a tip-off, officials of district civil supply department on Friday seized PDS rice at Manik Bhandar checkpost of Maklur tehsil in Nizamabad district.
Nizamabad: Acting on a tip-off, officials of district civil supply department on Friday seized PDS rice at Manik Bhandar checkpost of Maklur tehsil in Nizamabad district.
Deputy Tahsildar of Civil Supply Department Makloor D Vasanth Rao said that they got reliable information about PDS rice smuggling from Medipally mandal, Jagtial district to Nanded, Maharashtra State. While checking vehicles at Manik Bhandar checkpost, the officials found out 54 bags of PDS rice weighing about 28.05 quintals, in a Mahindra minivan.
They seized the rice and the vehicle and handed over them to SHO Makloor.6A case was booked on the minivan driver Md Feroj, S/o Md Chand and worker Md Mujaid Khan, S/o Md Mahamood Khan. Vasanth Rao said that a detailed report will be submitted to District Civil Supply Officer.
