The women are forced to stand as duty doctors turn up late for work

Yadadri-Bhongir: The pregnant women who came for tests at the district government hospital in Bhongir had to suffer a lot due to the late arrival of duty doctors on Monday.

Generally, the gynecologists would be available regularly at out-patient section in the hospital to conduct tests on pregnant women.

On every Monday, a large number of pregnant women under various public health centres come to district hospital for tests. Similarly, a large number of pregnant women came to district government hospital by 9 am on Monday.

As per the schedule, tests on pregnant women should be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon. However, as the respective duty doctors (gynecologists) failed to show up even after 11 am, the waiting women and their family members had to suffer. With not many chairs available, the pregnant women were forced to stand.

At last, the duty doctors came post 11 am and conducted the tests to till 3 pm.

Attendants of pregnant women demanded the hospital officials to provide sufficient sitting and other basic facilities at the hospital for the convenience of pregnant women who come for tests every Monday and Friday.
