A TRS leader and president of Rythu Samanvaya Committee of Chandampet Mandal was killed over a property dispute in Nalgonda.

Getting into details, there were disputes over properties between the victim Lalu Naik (50), Nalgonda district in charge and Gopya Naik, sarpanch of Old Polepally. The two also lodged complaints one against the other at the police station.

On Saturday, Gopya Naik's son Vijay had an argument with Lalu Naik over the demolition of encroachments near Polepally bus station. However, the police resorted to lathi-charge and brought the situation under control. The two groups entered into a clash later and attacked each other.

Lalu Naik suffered a head injury and was shifted to a private hospital in Devarakonda. He was later referred to a private hospital in Hyderabad where he died while undergoing treatment. On learning Lalu Naik's death, his supporters rushed to Vijaya Naik's house and vandalized the furniture.

Dindi rural CI Venkateshwarlu registered a case and launched an investigation.
