Hanamkonda: Liquor is a top money-spinner in the regime of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Warangal Lok Sabha candidate for BJP Chintha Samba Murthy said.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, he said the government is thriving on revenue incurred through liquor business.

"KCR, who talks tall about Federal Front and bringing reform in the country, didn't have respect towards Indian Constitution.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidates distributed money and liquor in large quantities in the Lok Sabha elections to influence the voters," he alleged.

Since TRS came to power, the government made every effort to beef up its exchequer through encouraging liquor trade in the State, he said.

Even though the crime rate under the influence of intoxication is increasing, KCR appears to have a blithe concern, Samba Murthy said.

'Telangana happened owing to the sacrifices of youth, but KCR didn't have focus on creating employment opportunities.

The youth are yet to get their due. The TRS will soon face the wrath of people. It was evident in recent Council elections,' Samba Murthy said.

Party State general secretary G Premender Reddy expressed confidence that BJP will return to power as Narendra Modi wave is still intact. He criticised the TRS leaders for being arrogant.

The TRS made mockery of democracy by distributing money and liquor to influence the voters. "We lodged a complaint with the returning officer, Prashanth Jeevan Patil, but of no use," Reddy said.

Senior leader Vannala Sriramulu said that despite urban voters' abstinence from voting, the BJP would win hands down. Referring to the DC Thanda residents who boycotted polling he said that it reflects the negligence of the TRS government.

Warangal Rural district president Edla Ashok Reddy, senior leaders V Sammi Reddy and D Devender Reddy were among others present.
