TRS senior netas sulking over being sidelined
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) senior leaders who were crucial in the party during the first term of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao are now leaving the party one after another charging that they have been sidelined in the party and preference was being given to new entrants.
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) senior leaders who were crucial in the party during the first term of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao are now leaving the party one after another charging that they have been sidelined in the party and preference was being given to new entrants.
The joining of G Vivek into Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday was not shocking but it did reveal that senior leaders of the party are unhappy with the TRS.
The TRS leaders deserting the party increased in the recent times and many have alleged that the party was not utilising their services and kept them aside even in important programmes.
Earlier, former RTC chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana too had resigned from the TRS last month.
Satyanarayana alleged that he was resigning from the party because he was kept aside by the party even in the membership drive.
Satyanarayana had alleged that party leader B Suman had worked for his defeat and went on to allege that there was no discipline in the party, and he had to face humiliation several times.
Another senior D Srinivas has been keeping away from the party. Though he is in TRS presently, sources said he was also said to be unhappy.
Recently, D Srinivas met Union Minister and BJP chief Amit Shah in New Delhi. Before his meeting with Shah, he was seen with the TRS MPs in Parliament.
According to sources, the leaders like P Srinivas Reddy, J Krishna Rao and others are said to be unhappy with the party. The leaders said to have expressed unhappiness over importance being given to new entrants by ignoring them.
Krishna Rao lost against B Harshvardhan of Congress in the Assembly elections from Kollapur. Harshvardhan later joined TRS and party leaders said that ever since then Rao was not seen active in the party.
Former Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was denied ticket during Lok Sabha elections and it was given to Nama Nageswara Rao of TDP, who also has won.
With dominance of one community leaders in the party, Srinivas Reddy is said to be unhappy and was looking at various options, said sources.
Sources said that the party leaders are miffed that they were ignored and the leaders who joined TRS for their political survival were given importance by giving ministerial posts.
