People in Nizamabad will vote using ballot paper instead of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in Telangana as a whooping of 185 candidates filed nomination for the Lok Sabha seat. Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) are used for a maximum of 64 candidates.

Kalvakuntla Kavitha from the ruling TRS party is seeking re-election from the constituency. She will face Madhu Yashki Goud from Congress party.

Of the 185 candidates, 178 farmers are contesting for the LS polls, said CEO Rajath Kumar on Thursday. The farmers filed the papers protesting against the government demanding Minimum Support Price (MSP) for turmeric and red jowar.

As the withdrawal of nominations concluded on Thursday, Rajath Kumar said that a total of 443 candidates were in fray for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
