Rs 30 crore sanctioned for road works in Rajamahendravaram

Hyderabad: Telangana government is set to speed up infrastructure development programmes mainly roads, projects, housing and other ongoing works so that employment opportunities could be created in the lockdown and help those who lost jobs in the crisis time.

Official sources said that the pending works at all ongoing irrigation projects will be taken up on a fast pace and the roads and bridges works will be resumed in the districts. The government has prepared plans to take up double lane road works connecting mandal headquarters and villages.

All the district authorities are asked to submit the status of the road development works in a week and resume works with the available local workforce. Most of the workers arrived to their native places from other states were left jobless and they will get employment once the works resume.

Several ongoing infrastructure development works like construction of double bedroom houses and government buildings will also be completed at the earliest. Officials said that government is already conducting skill development programme for the workers in Hyderabad and some identified districts where they can seek the assistance and get the employment at local level.

The officials are already asked to resume local development works in villages, mandals and district head quarters. Secretaries of the concerned departments will monitor the progress in the works from time to time.
