Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONCC) Rajamahendravaram Asset has undertaken cleaning of bathing ghats of river Godavari in the city, using its high powered motor pumps, as part of Swachha Bharat programme.

The pumps, which let out 2,500 gallons of water per minute clean the ghats covered with bio-waste. Plastic, algae by flushing them. Later, ONGC officials conducted demonstration programme of the equipment.

Later, ONGC Rajamahendravaram Asset executive director DMR Sekhar has said that the organization was in frontline relating to various welfare activities in its operational areas.

With the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ONGC participating actively in Swachha Bharat programme and as part of it taken up the cleaning of river Godavari.

Under Swachha Bharat programme, the company will donate Rs 45 lakh worth of Mechanized solid waste removal screening machine. At present Rs 20 lakh worth of two SML ISUZU Sartaz Trucks doanted to RMC to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the city.

Collector Karthikeya Misra congratulated ONGC for its approach to make river Godavari clean and advised ONGC to extend its gesture more for the development of historical city.

RMC commissioner Vegesna Vijaya Rama Raju appealed to all other major corporates to join hands with RMC for the overall development of the historical city.

Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, deputy collector Anand, information department deputy director M Francis and others were present.
