The AP government is going to launch all the 14 Disha police stations on March 8, on the occasion of the World Women's Day.

Amaravati: The AP government is going to launch all the 14 Disha police stations on March 8, on the occasion of the World Women's Day. In fact, the government already inaugurated 4 out of 18 Disha police stations and initially planned to open the remaining 14 in a phased manner. But, in a sudden development, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the Home Department to inaugurate all the 14 police stations on Women's Day.

Jagan hoped that launching all the 14 police stations on the Women's Day will create more awareness among the women.

Speaking to The Hans India, Home Minister M Sucharitha said that the Chief Minister directed to open all the remaining 14 police stations on March 8, as a gift to the women in the state.

It is worth mention that, the women police stations have been giving additional funds to meet the unforeseen expenditure every month. Each police station will get at least Rs 1 lakh for monthly expenditure. Since the majority of the cases will be booked under zero FIR, the police will have to spend more money on transportation and other expenditure.

The Disha App has become a better and simple way to reach the police, observed Sucharitha. She said that the majority of the women have been using it in the state now and added that more awareness will be created among women on it.
