1.73 lakh drivers to benefit under YSR Vahana Mitra in Amaravati
Over 1.73 lakh auto and cab drivers will get Rs 10,000 financially assistance per annum from the State government under the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme to be formally launched by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 4.
Amaravati: Over 1.73 lakh auto and cab drivers will get Rs 10,000 financially assistance per annum from the State government under the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme to be formally launched by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 4. Jagan is going to launch this programme at Eluru , where he made this promise during his padayatra.
The state government had allotted Rs 400 crore in the budget for the same. Of the Rs 400 crore, SCs will get Rs 68 crore and STs will get Rs 20 crore and the rest is being claimed by other castes. In all, 1,75,352 applications were received for the scheme of which 1,73,102 were cleared. Of the sanctioned number, there are 1,56,804 autos, 5,093 maxi cabs and taxi cabs account for 1,205.
Visakhapatnam tops the list of beneficiaries with 24,512 followed by Krishna with 20,333 and East Godavari 19,209 autos.
