The minor earthquake reported at Adurupalli, Putupalli, Dachur and Kollapanayudupalli villages of Chejarla Mandal in Nellore district on Thursday night. As per the locals, the earth trembled for about 8 seconds with a loud noise at 10 pm in the night. The people in the houses ran out of fear.
Residents said the vibe continued until dawn. Landslides have been reported to have moved objects in homes. Those who slept on the couches also said they had fallen. Officers visited the affected villages. "Being the catchment area of the Penna River, this is natural, ensured the people not to worry." an official said.
