Amaravati: Film personalities from Tollywood, including Daggubati Suresh, Shyam Prasad Reddy, Gemini Kiran and Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi called on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office on Wednesday.
Later, talking to the media, the film producers said that the cinema industry constructed 320 houses at Visakhapatnam for the victims of Hudhud cyclone. They said that they appealed to the Chief Minister to inaugurate the houses and hand over them to those who were rendered homeless by the cyclone. They recalled that the whole industry stopped shooting for a couple of days and conducted telethon from morning to late night and collected Rs 15 crore for the housing project.
The project was completed and they took the issue to the notice of the Chief Minister, they said adding that the Chief Minister agreed to hand over the houses to the victims.
