Says killings of TDP leaders are aimed to eliminate weaker sections leaders

Amaravati: TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday blamed the ruling party leaders for the murder of weaker sections' leader Nandam Subbaiah at Proddatur in Kadapa district.

. Naidu alleged that Subbaiah was targeted just because he held a press conference where he exposed the local YSRCP MLA's corruption and illegal activities. With a premeditated plan, the YSRCP leaders were bent on eliminating the backward classes and weaker sections leaders.

In a statement here, the TDP chief accused the YSRCP of resorting to mayhem and killings in order to suppress all voices of dissent from both the Opposition and the public. Subbaiah, who belonged to the weaker sections community, was now brutally murdered for questioning the role of the MLA and his brother-in-law in the illegal transportation of sand and cricket betting. What is more, Subbaiah was killed when he went to take part in the house sites distribution programme launched by the government itself.

He deplored that after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister, all sections of people came under threat to their lives and property. The people were under constant fear of being attacked and their houses robbed.

"Murders, rapes, gangrapes and tortures are taking place everyday somewhere in the state without any relief," he said.

The TDP chief termed Subbaiah's killing as a 'government murder' and demanded the Chief Minister to take responsibility for the ghastly incident. The government should mete out strong punishment to the murderers and justice should be done to the bereaved family, he said.
