Anantapur: District Collector Gandham Chandrudu has constituted a task force with 25 nodal officers who will be in-charges of 25 clusters identified as containment zones scattered in 20 clusters in Anantapur and five clusters in Hindupur in the district.

Addressing a meeting with nodal officers along with SP B Sathya Yesu Babu here on Sunday, the District Collector revealed that 80 percent of corona cases are from the two towns while the remaining 20 percent is from Dharmavaram and Yadiki. He explained the responsibilities of nodal officers in curbing the dreaded disease.

The nodal officer in-charge of each cluster must contain movement of people and restrict them from loitering outside with no genuine reason. The nodal officer should supply medicines and commodities etc to the people in the containment zone. Government employees should be permitted to go to work. Medical and health emergencies should be allowed to go to hospital etc.

Chandrudu said that the government is spending Rs.2,800 on Covid-19 test per person. So far, 60,000 tests had been conducted and Rs.16.80 crore spent so far on tests. Those above 60 years of age and those suffering from long-term ailments also should be confined to their homes, he said. Those in isolation should take 'C' vitamin juices and also take zinc vitamin tablets, he added.
