The BJP Andhra Pradesh state president Somu Veerraju said the capital of the state should remain at Amaravati and asserted that they had no other chance. He said Prime Minister Modi was doing all the development in the capital and the central institutions would remain in Amaravati even if the state government changed capitals.

He made these comments at a meeting of the Indian Kisan Sangh in Tulluru where he was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that BJP will build a wonderful capital in Amaravati. He said he was promising as Modi's spokesperson. All the plots given to the farmers of Amaravati will be developed with Rs 2,000 crore.

However, he opined that the BJP has to win the elections in Andhra Pradesh to fulfill all the promises given to the farmers. "We are building a defense academy in NTR's hometown of Nimbakur," he said.
