Andhra Pradesh power Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the power companies have made a profit. Speaking to media on Thursday, he said that we have protected the power companies which are in debt of Rs 70,000 crore. He was incensed that the TDP had submerged power companies during the government's tenure.
He said over Rs 30,000 crore had been disbursed during the last one year to help power companies that were mired in debt. We are giving free electricity to agriculture for 9 hours a day. One hundred percent target will be reached by this kharif.
He explained that more than 7,000 junior linemen have been recruited and meters are being installed for quality power supply. We are trying to provide quality electricity to the people. Minister Balineni lamented that all power deals and purchases during the TDP regime were corrupt
