The local leaders in the YSRCP are facing hardships without any posts so far. All of the hopes went in vain with the nominated position being allocated to various leaders. However, the government seems to be planning a local election in January. The YCP cadre has pinned hopes for local elections in AP.
The tenure of panchayats, municipalities and irrigation unions has come to an end. Yet there was no election. CM Jagan has announced the election of local bodies but yet the notification has been not released so far. Those who have joined the party are expecting elections for leaders in rural areas. Party leaders feel that although YCP is active in Rural, it needs to be strengthened in Urban.
In Rural and Urban, the selection of candidates is expected to be very important, along with party strength. It was reported that Jagan had ordered other party leaders to take up the operation and effectively carry out Operation Akarsh. It was said that the district's charge ministers had been entrusted with the responsibility of bringing the complaints from ward to district level. Jagan suggested that there should be no shortcomings in the selection of candidates.
CM reportedly advised ministers to work the victory of the candidates, irrespective of the seat allocated to them. After the Sankranthi festival, Jagan govt is reportedly planning to hold local body elections.
